Pet Portraits in Rutledge Park with Sully

Sully loves chasing his balls. And therein lies the key to getting a great pet portrait – capture him in his element!

Sully is happiest tearing after his tennis ball. For him, it’s all about the chase. All I had to do was get down to his level (literally) and grab frames as he galloped past. This dog is FAST. We shot at sunset in Rutledge Park, which is my favorite time for natural light portrait work (people, pet, or otherwise).

I was extremely fortunate when Rob agreed to saddle up the sidecar for this shoot, as the image of these two at speed will attest. And who doesn’t love a photograph of a pooch in Doggles?

Thank you Rob and Sully!
